Do you ever wonder what is holding you back from having a great relationship with someone, financial stability, a great job, or a successful career, etc.? I often ask myself that question. If you have the knowledge and skills to perform at your best, then what is keeping you from it?
Let’s break this down. If you know what to do, then is it a lack of motivation or passion on your part? Or do you know what to do, but you say to yourself that it won’t work anyway? Do you entertain thoughts like, “I don’t really have what it takes to be successful in today’s world”; or do you say, “I will just have to settle for less”; or “I have to struggle to make ends meet”? These are fear based thoughts which will only bring you more reason to be fearful.
Do you truly believe that you can be successful in whatever you do? This is the first step in attaining what you want. You must start by simply believing you CAN! Henry Ford was right when he said, “If you think you can or you think you can’t– both are right”!
Try replacing these “fear based” thoughts and self-talk with “empowering” ones like, “I am successful”; or “I can accomplish anything I make up my mind to do”. It is vitally important that you begin to see yourself, and talk about yourself, as if you have already accomplished what you set out to do.
Start being positive with the words you use to describe yourself. One of the most important things in life is the amount of self-love, self-respect, and self-approval you give to yourself. If you find that you are always trying to please other people or worry a lot about what others think of you, you might want to work on strengthening your self approval.
Try this:
- • Always encourage yourself.
- • Only compare yourself to the “old” you.
- • Practice positive self-talk throughout each day!
- • Find things to complement yourself on daily…hourly!
- • Be grateful for “YOU”!
Become aware of what you are thinking so you can make each thought work for you!
